LEAD YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TEAM!

The seven high schools within HRJC are led by team captains. Serving as a captain is a great honor and important role for a student athlete to take on.

Requirements:
​If you wish to become a team captain on your High School's Mountain Biking Team you must meet the following requirements:

1. You must be a sophomore, junior, or senior
2. You must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or greater
3. ​​You must have skills in Planning, Communication, and Time Management
4. You must be able to attend at least 3 High School races, even if not competing 
5. You must be able to attend at least 80% of practices
6. You are in full compliance with HRJC rules and the Colorado League Code of Conduct

Roles: 
The role of a team captain is to:

1. Promote team unity/spirit by coordinating team rides, meals, and events ​
2. Support your teammates at races and practice
3. Assist freshman and new riders 
4. Assume responsibility for communication between your school and HRJC and between riders and coaches
5. Actively work to promote the team and the sport of mountain biking within your school as well as recruit new riders
6. Assist coaches and volunteers in setting up/taking down equipment and other jobs around the team tent during races
7. Cheer on teammates and help with race prep/ make sure riders are ready and confident to race
8. Coordinate with other captains to discuss topics concerning the team and choose representatives to attend board meetings to give rider input
