MEET YOUR 2023 TEAM CAPTAINS

The high school teams within HRJC are led by team captains. Serving as a captain is a great honor and important role for a student athlete to take on. The 2023 Team Captains are:

• Grace Bournonville - HRJC Team captain & ThunderRidge
• Baylor Moir - HRJC Team captain (Mountain Vista)
• Ava Langer - Arma Dei
• Ellie Steiner - Highlands Ranch
• Landon Warta - Mountain Vista
• Ryan Scherrer - Rock Canyon
• Ian Krombein - Valor

Roles: 
The role of a team captain is to:

1. Promote team unity/spirit by coordinating team rides, meals, and events ​
2. Support your teammates at races and practice
3. Assist freshman and new riders 
4. Assume responsibility for communication between your school and HRJC 
5. Actively work to promote the team and the sport of mountain biking within your school as well as recruit new riders
6. Assist coaches and volunteers in setting up/taking down equipment and other jobs around the team tent during races
7. Cheer on teammates and help with race prep/ make sure riders are ready and confident to race
8. Coordinate with other captains to discuss topics concerning the team and choose representatives to attend board meetings to give rider input
